Amusement parks should more aptly be called something more like adrenaline parks or thrill parks. When it comes to amusement parks, America has some of the best in the world. Some are large and well known while others are small local affairs that are similar to a carnival road show. The great thing about all amusement parks is that you will have a fun time full of fond memories.
Disney theme parks are the most renowned amusement parks in the world. When it comes to the most popular amusement parks America has to offer, Disneyland, Disney World and the other related parks are the top tourist destinations. They have rides that appeal to people of all ages and plenty of charm and character as each area has a different theme and each ride has a story to accompany it. These parks are all kept meticulously clean and there isnt a detail that hasnt been overlooked.
Other amusement parks are more heavily focused on the rides than the ambiance and are not theme parks like Disney. These parks pander to enthusiastic riders looking for a more thrilling experience as they ride the many attractions. These parks offer a large selection of rides that appeal to the young and old, nervous or fearless.
Traditional amusement parks offer their customers the classic rides like carousel and Ferris wheel rides that simply go around in a circle. Other rides also mainly spin but do so at a much faster speed. Roller coasters might emphasize ups and downs while others loop and twist and turn more. Some have the seats connected to a track overhead so you feel completely free air below you and others are basic carts on tracks.
No doubt a good amusement park offers more than just water slides, roller coasters and carousels. People having fun can work up an appetite and the time in between rides is often a great opportunity to amuse themselves with other forms of entertainment like games and shopping. Therefore, its no surprise that many amusement parks have arcades and other games you can play, souvenir shops to browse around and restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal and re-charge your energy. Also, the majority of the larger amusement parks of today often include with a water park.
Lastly, you can find some amusement parks that are only water theme parks. Water theme parks have rides associated with water such as rafting rides and they also have a large variety of fun water slides. You can play in pools that come in many different shapes and sizes including wave pools and some even have wave simulators. Like other amusement parks, water parks cater to all ages especially small children with rides that children and their parents can enjoy and have fun.
Nowadays new and improved and more extreme rides are continuing to be designed. The atmosphere of many parks is also continuing to be refined because the atmosphere plays an important role in heightening the quality of parks. Theres never been a better time to go and experience the fun and magic at American amusement parks.
